Introducing The New 5HP SMART High-Vacuum Air Lock Package!

Primarily designed for CNC applications, it uses patented Oneida Air Systems' patented SMART Boost® technology to provide roughly twice the static pressure of standard collectors and pull maximum CFM from the cutter head. This increased suction performance means higher-quality cuts, increased cutter life, and less clean up.

Traditional dust collector fan motors operate at a fixed speed (RPM). When long ducting runs, smaller tool ports, and even closed gates limit the volume of air (CFM) the fan can move at its fixed speed, the motor ends up doing less work – and draws fewer amps. Our unique SMART Boost technology ensures the motor is always working at full capacity (with a constant amp draw) by increasing fan speed as needed to deliver maximum CFM and maximum suction at all times – up to double the CFM and suction of traditional, fixed RPM dust collectors. It’s truly revolutionary!

This high pressure system is ideal for use with any type of CNC cutting tools as well as saws, jointers, lathes, shapers, planers, routers, sanders, and more!

Ultra-High Efficiency Steel Cyclone Separator with Air Lock

Features Oneida Air Systems' unique long-tapered cyclone design that provides maximum pre-separation efficiency compared to the squatter cyclone designs of competitors. Cyclone is fitted with a clean out cone for easy maintenance access. Also included with this package is our rotary air lock, which uses a high-efficiency, US-Made motor to control the flow of discharge material from the dust collector via a rubber padded wheel that rotates at a preset speed. The airtight seal with the collector is maintained at all times, ensuring peak airflow performance while waste is continuously deposited into open bins, industrial hoppers, or transfer blower systems.

FAQ

How often should I clean the dust collector's cartridge filter?

This can vary widely depending on how often your dust collector is used and what kind of dusts it's exposed to but you should typically clean it only once you've noticed a considerable drop in suction performance. In our experience this can be around once per year, but with heavy amounts of sanding it could be as often as once per month. A meter such as our Filter Efficiency Gauge can also be used to monitor pressure buildup and inform you when the filter needs to be cleaned.

Is saw dust from a Woodmizer bandsaw mill from green logs considered "wet"? And thus is this system not able to handle that? How does the airlock rotate? How fast?

If there is any water in the application, we do not recommend our product. The airlock rotates 13 rpm rotation for less seal wear.

What do I need to know about NFPA regulations?

Fire protection regulations are a complex and ever-changing set of rules that differ from facility to facility. However, all of Oneida Air Systems' dust collector are NFPA Compliance Ready and we provide best practices and guidance for assisting customers - read our NFPA Reference Guide for more information.

Is this product compatible with Quick-Clamp Duct?

Yes but you will first need to install a Machine Adapter into the dust collector's inlet. These adapters are smaller on the raw end than traditional ducting so that they can slip into the ports on systems and tools i.e. a 5" Quick-Clamp Duct Machine Adapter will measure ~4.9" O.D. on the raw end.

Can I vent my system outside?

If you have conditioned air in your shop (heated or cooled), then exhausting outside can be costly. If your building is small and well-sealed, you can interfere with flue exhausts as well. Close neighbors might object. If the Dust Collection system is run intermittently it is generally not a problem. Most buildings have enough leaks and crevices where the aforementioned volume of air does not cause problems. If you have a problem opening or closing an outside door when the DC is running, crack a window slightly. The rule of thumb is for every 500 CFM have at least 1 sq/ft of return air coming back into the shop. A lot of our customers blow exhaust air outside successfully.

What dust can be collected with your collector?

Oneida Air Systems' dust collectors are designed and tested for wood and wood dust. They can and have been used effectively for various other debris, including drywall dust, paper dust, agricultural dust, and metal chips. Please note that some common materials when cut, ground or processed by machinery may become highly toxic, flammable, or deflagrable and explosive. Customers must ensure that their particular use of a dust collection system is in accordance with national, state, local, NFPA, OSHA and all other applicable codes.

Can this be used for wet applications as well?

No. This system is designed for use collecting dry materials only.

What are the dimensions for this product?

Why does my SMART system run after I shut it off?

The SMART system has a cooling fan on the VFD that runs after the system is shut off. Depending on how long the system has been on or if the outside temperature is hotter than normal, it may run for a longer time to cool the motor down. This is a normal function of the system, and it will stop automatically.
