Replacement Dust Cobra HEPA-Grade Media Filter (pre-2013)

High efficiency HEPA-grade media cartridge filter for specific Dust Cobra® (pre 2013), Ridgid®, and Craftsman® wet/dry vacuums. Unique non-stick surface coating resists clogging and makes it quick and easy to clean. Perfect for use with drywall, concrete, wood, cold ash, and other fine dusts. Features hole-top design that installs over threaded rod within the vacuum.

PLEASE NOTE: This filter is for Dust Cobra® systems purchased in 2012 and earlier. Systems purchased in 2013 and after require replacement filter part number FCH000004.

This filter DOES NOT fit wet-dry vacuums that utilize the Qwik Lock™ Filter Fastening System. Serve as a replacement unit for Craftsman® Filter 9-17816, 9-17907, and 9-17912 and RIDGID® Filter Models - VF4000, VF5000, VF6000, and VF7000. Refer to Cleanstream's compatibility chart for more information.

How do I install the hole top cleanstream filter?

Remove old filter and clean sealing surface on lid. Carefully slide opening of filter over cage. Push bottom of filter firmly down until it seats on filter post. Secure filter in place with existing filter nut. Do not over tighten. Damage or cracking of end cap due to over tightening is not covered by the product warranty. Do not use filter plate supplied with vac. Click "Read More" for important safety information.

How often should I clean the dust collector's cartridge filter?

This can vary widely depending on how often your dust collector is used and what kind of dusts it's exposed to but you should typically clean it only once you've noticed a considerable drop in suction performance. In our experience this can be around once per year, but with heavy amounts of sanding it could be as often as once per month. A meter such as our Filter Efficiency Gauge can also be used to monitor pressure buildup and inform you when the filter needs to be cleaned.
