Why am I being charged sales tax for my order?

In March 2019, Oneida Air Systems began charging sales tax in all states that require it as a result of the Supreme Court (5-4) ruling on June 21, 2018 in the case of South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. This allowed states the ability to charge sales tax on shipments in to their state from businesses that had no base of operations (or nexus) in the state. Previous to this decision, states only collected sales tax if the company (seller) had a base of operations in the state. Purchases of Oneida Air Systems' products will be charged the applicable sales tax based on where the product is being shipped to and not where it is being shipped from or invoiced to. Taxes are an estimate at time of order being placed as the actual taxes are subject to change based on when the order gets shipped as local and/or state taxes may have changed between the day of order and day of shipment.

If a business is tax exempt, Oneida Air Systems is required to have a current copy of the tax exempt certificate on file.
